Description

TECOVIBE-400 (Teicoplanin 400 mg Injection) Broad-Spectrum Glycopeptide Antibiotic Composition Each vial contains: Teicoplanin BP 400 mg Excipients q.s. Reconstitute with Sterile Water for Injection before use. Description TECOVIBE-400 (Teicoplanin) is a potent glycopeptide antibiotic effective against a wide range of Gram-positive bacteria, including resistant strains such as MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and Enterococcus species. It acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to rapid bactericidal activity. Indications TECOVIBE-400 is indicated for the treatment of severe infections caused by Gram-positive organisms, including: Skin and soft tissue infections Bone and joint infections Respiratory tract infections Urinary tract infections Septicaemia Endocarditis Peritonitis (especially in CAPD patients) Dosage and Administration Adults: Loading dose: 6–12 mg/kg IV every 12 hours for 3 doses Maintenance dose: 6 mg/kg IV or IM once daily Children: Dose should be adjusted according to body weight and severity of infection. Route of administration: IV or IM (As directed by the physician) Reconstitution Dissolve the contents of one vial in 3 mL of Sterile Water for Injection. Shake gently until a clear solution is obtained.
